The maiden edition of the Business of Ghanaian Fashion (BoGF) Summit, organised by Fashion Nexus Ghana, a non-profit organisation, has been held in Accra.
The event, which took place on Thursday, October 16, 2025, brought together policymakers, designers, investors, and development partners to discuss strategies for strengthening and sustaining Ghana’s fashion industry.
It was held on the theme; “Building a Sustainable Future for Ghana’s Fashion Industry.”
In attendance were partners from UNESCO, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry (MoTAI), the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA), the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), among others.
According to the founder of Fashion Nexus Ghana, Ms Hillary S. Andoh, the summit formed part of the broader BoGF Initiative launched earlier this year with a goal to develop a vibrant and sustainable fashion ecosystem.
“Part of our goal is to strengthen local talent and fashion business structures, promote sustainability, expand access to global markets and position Ghana as a hub for fashion innovation on the African continent,” Ms Andoh noted.
She added that the BoGF Summit and the Year-Round Capacity Building Training Program are not merely standalone events but form the foundation of a national movement that unites creative leaders, manufacturers, textile producers, educators, policymakers, investors, and development partners—transforming dialogues into meaningful action.
