The bedrock of Dr. Acheampong's character was laid during his formative years at Achimota Primary School and Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, where academic excellence walked hand-in-hand with the Presbyterian values of discipline and community service.

This early formation manifested when, as a young national service personnel, he dedicated his time to the Tom-ni orphanage in Kwahu Oborni - an early indicator of the humanitarian spirit that would define his later years.

Humanitarian legacy

With annual investments exceeding GHS 3 million, the foundation has become a lifeline for thousands. In education, over 200 students have received life-changing scholarships, with beneficiaries like Kofi Mensah, now a medical student, testifying that "BAF didn't just pay my fees - they believed in me before I believed in myself."

The foundation's health interventions include registering 20,000 beneficiaries under NHIS, supporting 10,000 pregnant women with delivery packages, and providing nutritional support for 25,000 infants. Perhaps most impactful are the 100 boreholes drilled across 16 communities, bringing the fundamental right of clean water to tens of thousands.

Livelihood programs have established a gari processing centre in Nteso, created thrift shops benefiting 2,000 individuals, and distributed farm inputs worth GH¢500,000 to 6,000 farmers. His personal touch is evident in gestures like awarding a brand-new Suzuki Swift to his constituency's best midwife and donating GH¢300,000 to rebuild the Adum-Blue Light market after a devastating fire.
