Asanka Learning Device relaunched to revolutionise education
TECHAiDE, a technology company, has relaunched a digital platform named All Subjects and New Knowledge Access (ASANKA) learning device to expand access to quality education.
ASANKA, which was relaunched last Thursday, comes with features designed to bridge the educational gap, especially for students in rural and underserved communities.
One of its most significant advantages is that it allows students to access learning materials without requiring an internet connection.
The relaunch became possible because the device has been enhanced with new features.
Currently, there is now the ability to track and analyse data of the students.
The teachers also now can create their own test items and administer it to their children.
Additionally, there is an online option where you can sync all the devices onto a dashboard.
Features
Beyond connectivity, ASANKA provides a collection of educational resources tailored to different levels of learning. Students can explore digital textbooks, instructional videos, interactive quizzes and engaging lessons, all designed to make learning more effective and enjoyable.
The device also supports teachers by offering lesson planning tools, student assessment features and real-time progress tracking.
Additionally, ASANKA serves as a publishing and distribution hub, enabling content creators to share educational materials widely.
Its multilingual capabilities ensure that students from different linguistic backgrounds can engage with the content effectively.

Speaking at the launch, the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr Clement Apaak, emphasised the importance of technology in education and reiterated the government’s commitment to integrating digital learning tools into the education system.
"As a nation, we must embrace smart learning if we are to produce the skilled workforce needed for national development. The digital divide in education is real and we must work collectively to bridge it," he said.
He mentioned that many students, particularly in rural areas, still lacked access to computers, despite being required to study ICT and solutions such as ASANKA were key to addressing that challenge.
Call for collaboration
The deputy minister further said while the government was taking steps to improve digital education, achieving nationwide impact required strong collaboration between the public and private sectors, donor organisations and international partners.
He,therefore, called on stakeholders to support initiatives such as ASANKA to ensure that students across the country, regardless of their location, had access to quality digital education.
"The need is great but we cannot afford to look back. We must act now to ensure our students have the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world," he said.
Dr Apaak commended the developers of ASANKA for their innovation and urged them to continue improving the platform to meet the evolving needs of education.
"Technology is constantly changing. Keep pushing forward and know that the government is ready to collaborate for the collective good of Ghana and Africa," he said.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TECHAiDE, Kafui Prebbie, described ASANKA as a gateway to boundless education that empowered teachers, publishers and learners.
He emphasised that while technology could not replace great teachers, it could enhance their impact when used effectively.
"Asanka is not just about accessing content. It is about creating a smarter learning experience.
Our AI-powered tools enhance the learning process, offering real-time progress tracking, assessments and data-driven decision making to support each learner’s growth,” he said.
