GETFund does not charge fees for scholarships — Management

The management of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has stated that it does not charge any fees at any stage of its scholarship application or award process. 

Additionally, "no individual or organisation has been authorised by GETFund to collect money on its behalf for any purpose related to the scholarship award."

Unscrupulous individuals

A statement issued by the management of the GETFund explained that it had been aware of attempts by "certain unscrupulous individuals to fraudulently use the fund's name to solicit and extort money from unsuspecting members of the public, falsely promising scholarship placement.

"These fraudulently claims are entirely false and should be disregarded," the statement added.

The statement urged the public to treat any such solicitation as a scam and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate security agencies or directly to the GETFund Secretariat.

"GETFund will not be held liable for any losses incurred as a result of engagement with fraudulent actors," the statement said.
