Ofi Ghana donates ICT Lab, supplies to Kaase M/A Schools
Olam Food Ingredients (ofi) Ghana Limited has refurbished a dilapidated information and communications technology (ICT) laboratory to the Kaase M/A Schools in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The company equipped the renovated ICT laboratory with 30 desktop computers, 31 desks and chairs, a projector and screen, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and landscaped lawns.

The company also donated educational supplies to the school as part of a wider goal to foster thriving communities by tackling critical barriers to development, particularly through education.
The materials included 900 exercise books, 500 pens and 400 pencils, along with the planting of 40 shade trees on the school premises to create a more conducive learning environment.
Additionally, ofi pledged to provide 190GB of monthly internet data for a year, with plans to support the school's ICT needs for the next five years, subject to review.
Community engagement
At the inauguration, the General Manager of the Processing Business, Prince Acheampong, highlighted ofi's dedication to long-term community engagement.
"Our purpose is to be the ‘change for good food and a healthy future' guides us in making decisions that impact the communities we operate in.
“Education is a powerful tool for empowerment, and this ICT laboratory will help prepare students for a competitive future. We are equipping them with the digital skills needed to thrive in today's world," he said.

He said ofi Ghana's support for Kaase M/A School aligned with the company's sustainability strategy, Choices for Change, which sought to empower local communities within the supply chain through education.

The Headmaster of the junior high school section of Kaase M/A School, Solomon Cosmos Koduah, said the facility would revolutionise how the students engaged with technology.
“We are immensely thankful to ofi Ghana for this significant development," he said.
The Headteacher of the primary section, Rita Dela Hudekpor, added that the ICT lab was a dream come true and would help bridge the digital divide and open new opportunities for students and staff.
