Old Abuscodians launch silver jubilee celebration

The 2001 Year-Group of Abuakwa State College has launched its 25th anniversary celebration with a call on alumni and the public to strengthen support for the school.

The President of the Old Abuscodians Association, 2001 Year Group, Audrey Anim Agyapong, who made the call, said the anniversary was not only a celebration of the past but also an opportunity to give back to the institution that shaped the lives of members.

“Twenty-five years ago, Abuakwa State College opened its doors to us and shaped our lives with knowledge, discipline and values that many of us still carry with us today,” she said at the launch.

The launch was last Saturday on the theme: “Yaanom 2G1 Silver Jubilee – Our Roots, Our Journey: The Role of Old Students”.

A member of the planning committee, Kweku Yeboah, said the decision to undertake the sports facility project followed extensive consultations with the school authorities and students.

He explained that members had initially considered several projects but discovered that many of them had already been awarded on contract.

The Assistant Headmaster, Academics at Abuakwa State College, Eric Asare Opare, commended the 2001 Year Group for the initiative and encouraged old students to continue supporting the school's development.
