The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has appealed to members of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) to go back to the lecture halls while the leadership returns to the negotiation table.
The commission said its call was premised on the fact that UTAG had to be seen to be respecting the lawful authority of the mediator, the National Labour Commission (NLC), even if it had any misgivings about it.
“As intellectuals, we cannot be seen to be acting with impunity,” the Director-General of GTEC, Professor Mohammed Salifu, said in an exclusive interview.
