They include 20 flat-screen desktop computers, 12 ceiling fans and two HP multi-purpose printers.

The presentation formed part of activities to commemorate 30 years of leaving the school.

At a brief ceremony to hand over the items, the leader of the group, Mr Richard Gyasi-Dankyira, who was the head prefect at the time, said the motivation for the gesture was in three-fold.

“First, through this donation, students will gain a valuable asset, which is quality education, especially in this age of advancement in ICT. Second, we want to become trailblazers and challenge other year groups to emulate and resolve to support the school on a rotational basis, year after year, from next year (2017), and finally to send a clear message to all old students of this great school about the need to come together to form a much stronger association that will take centre stage in shaping the future and continued development of our alma mater,” he said.

The Headmaster, Mr Christian Attram-Gyeketey, received the items and thanked the past students for their  support and the 1986 year group in particular for their kindness. He also gave an assurance that the items would be put to good use.

The Vice-President of ASECOSA, Mr Mark Appiah-Brako Jnr,  highlighted key projects that the association had embarked upon over the years to create a congenial atmosphere for effective teaching and learning in the school.

Among them were general renovation works, fixing of louvre blades in the classroom blocks, purchase of tables and chairs for the school’s dining hall and the purchase of a 50kva power-generating plant for the school.

The ceremony was attended by other members of the 1986 year group, other year group members,  students, teachers and some of the school’s board of governors.

The old students held a general meeting immediately after the presentation to select steering committee members to oversee the planning and other preparations for the 2018 Golden Jubilee Homecoming to mark the 50 years of the existence of the school.
