60 Women complete training in hairdressing

Sixty women who have completed skills training in hairdressing have passed out at the FC Beauty College in the Volta Region as part of a training programme to empower women to earn income from sustainable livelihood.

The technical and management training programme entailed basic facials, bridal make-up, salon management, health and safety.

It was designed for members of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA) and sponsored by the Skills Development Fund (SDF) of the Council for Technical and Vocational Education Training (COTVET).

In an address, the Chief Executive of FC Beauty College, Mrs Grace Amey Obeng, advised the graduates to apply knowledge gained at the college to improve their livelihood.

She said good management in the running of their businesses would enable them to become economically independent so they can employ other people. 

Certificates were presented to the graduates at the ceremony.
