The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) says renovation work at Terminal 2 of the Accra International Airport is expected to be completed by December 2026.
The $15 million renovation project is intended to upgrade Terminal 2 to accommodate both domestic and international flights, helping to ease the growing passenger congestion currently being experienced at Terminal 3.
The Managing Director of GACL, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare gave the update on the construction works while briefing members of parliament's Roads and Transportation Committee during an oversight visit to the airport on Tuesday [August 4, 2026].
She explained that sections of the terminal have been partitioned to allow domestic flight operations while final works continue on the international section.
“Hopefully by December, we will finish all the works with Terminal 2 and His Excellency will have the opportunity to come and commissioned it,” she told the Committee members.
