The police has launched investigations into the deaths of two women whose bodies were discovered in a hotel room at Cab Hospitality Hotel in the Gbewa Residential Area of Tamale in the Northern Region on Monday, August 3, 2026.
In a statement, the Northern Regional Police Command said the deceased were believed to be Beninois nationals and that the police moved in following a report by hotel management.
The bodies have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
According to the police, investigations were underway to identify the deceased persons, and liaise with relevant authorities to contact their families.
The command said a special team of investigators, intelligence officers, and a crime scene unit from the National Police Headquarters has been deployed to Tamale to assist the Northern Regional Command in the probe.
