Acting MD of Graphic interacts with staff

The acting Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Mr Ransford Tetteh, has charged employees of the company to go the extra mile in the performance of their duties to increase profitability.

He also asked them to be disciplined and stay away from negative attitudes that account for revenue leakages in the company.

“I want to urge workers in departments of the company to up their game and work strictly to timelines because if we are not responsible in our work rate, we cannot generate enough money to run our affairs and improve our working conditions,” he stressed.

Durbar

Mr Tetteh stated this while addressing employees at his maiden staff durbar since he took over as the acting Managing Director of the company, following the resignation of Mr Kenneth Ashigbey last month.

Flanked by other management members of the GCGL, he urged the expectant employees to “help build a bigger cake for the company” by helping to block all revenue leakages.

Present at the durbar were the directors of Newspapers, Mr Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafo; Human Resource and Administration, Ms Peggy Addo; Finance, Mr Kwabena Baah-Adade, and line managers.

Caution

Touching on the way forward for the company, Mr Tetteh stressed that all efforts would be directed at removing stumbling blocks and reposition the GCGL to sustain the gains it had made over the years.

He cautioned employees against engaging in activities that could constitute conflict of interest, stressing that investigations would be conducted to get to the bottom of suspected cases in that direction.

“We will investigate the background of all companies that do business with the GCGL to be sure that no conflict of interest is allowed to persist,” he said.

 Concerns

The staff raised some departmental challenges, in response to which Mr Tetteh said he would run an open administration and work with other management members to address those concerns.

On the issue of better working conditions for workers, he assured the employees that for as long as they were diligent in the discharge of their duties, efforts would be made to give them their due.

He added that he would take steps to cut unnecessary cost in all departments and also police the wage bill to ensure accountability in the use of the company’s resources.

He added that a task force would be set up to help collect money owed the company by some entities.

Assurances

Taking his turn to address some of the concerns, Mr Baah-Adade said management was not in any way denying employees their entitlements.

He said concerns relating to certain entitlements and benefits would be addressed by the board of directors and the outcome communicated to employees.

For her part, the Market Research Manager, Ms Adwoa Oforiwaa Turkson, urged the workers to be actively involved in the Employee Satisfaction Survey (ESS) for 2017 that was being conducted by the Research Department.

She said the ESS was a reliable and viable tool that could help address the concerns of workers.

The Head of Information Systems, Mrs Christabel Addo Mfuamfo, also told the workers that steps were being taken to fix the technical challenges, especially in the Newspaper Department.
