In an interview with the Daily Graphic in Accra during a blood donation exercise, she said such events were also aimed at creating awareness among the public on the essence of donating blood to save lives apart from stocking the blood bank.

The event was the fourth annual blood donation programme by the Adentan Rotaract Club and was held at the University for Professional Studies. About 100 people turned up to donate blood during the event.

The former Club Administration Director of the Adentan Rotaract Club, Nii Akwetey-Kodjoe, said it was necessary to stock the National Blood Bank to meet emergency situations in order to save lives.

He advised the youth to put a stop to unhealthy lifestyles and support such exercises to save lives.

One of the donors, Madam Felicia Konadu Yamoah, 24, also appealed to Ghanaians to make blood donation a regular affair.
