Africon AI empowers African Union officials with transformational AI skills for financial innovation
The African Union Commission (AUC) has partnered with Africon AI, a leading Ghana-based artificial intelligence company, to build the next generation of data-driven African institutions by equipping officials with transformational AI skills aimed at strengthening financial management, budgeting, and reporting across the continent.
Held from October 24–25, 2025, at the newly opened Africon AI Training & Innovation Centre at East Legon, Accra, the AI Masterclass brought together senior finance and policy professionals from various AU departments to explore how artificial intelligence can transform financial operations and improve institutional efficiency.
Led by Africon AI’s Founder and CEO, Gideon Asare, and his expert team, the training offered hands-on learning in generative AI applications, featuring tools such as ChatGPT, Gamma, Read AI, Comet (Perplexity), and NotebookLM. Participants acquired practical skills in automating financial reports, data visualisation, optimising budgeting, and making faster, evidence-based decisions.

“This partnership with the African Union reflects our commitment to helping African institutions use AI to improve operational speed, insight, and clarity,” said Mr Gideon Asare. “Financial innovation today isn’t just about figures; it’s about how quickly and intelligently organisations can interpret and act on data.
A key highlight of the programme was the introduction of Africon AI’s proprietary CRIT prompt framework, developed to help professionals design effective AI prompts for financial analysis, audit reporting, and policy drafting. Participants applied these methods to real financial data, demonstrating how AI enhances accuracy, transparency, and compliance in institutional reporting.
Rhodaline Animah, Training Coordinator at Africon AI, described the participants’ engagement as exceptional: “The enthusiasm from AU participants was outstanding. The sessions showed how professionals quickly adapt to AI tools once they see their direct impact on efficiency and work quality.”

The AI Masterclass underscores Africon AI’s growing reputation as a leader in AI-driven corporate transformation. From its Accra-based Training & Innovation Centre, the company runs customised AI and digital transformation programmes for banks, insurance firms, public institutions, NGOs, and development organisations across Africa.
Africon AI’s tailored programmes are designed to equip executives, managers, and policymakers with practical skills to integrate AI into decision-making, boost productivity, and achieve strategic business goals. By combining theory with real-world simulations, Africon ensures participants leave with tools they can immediately apply in their organisations.

The partnership with the African Union adds to Africon AI’s expanding institutional client base, which includes DKT International Ghana, where the company recently completed another corporate AI training, marking Africon’s first dual institutional engagement since its inception.
“Our vision is to position Africa not only as a user of AI but as a global leader in its responsible and innovative application,” Mr Asare added. “We’re proud to be part of a movement reshaping how institutions across the continent think, plan, and perform.”
