Ahinsan assembly member donates to police

In recognition of the work the police are doing in his area, especially in the fight against crime and promoting confidence in the law enforcement agency among residents, the assembly member for Ahinsan Estate in Kumasi, Nana Yaw Wiredu, has presented eight sets of reflective metal barricades to the Ghana Police Service. The barricades are embossed with the emblem of the service.

While presenting the barricades, he paid glowing tribute to the police in the area for bringing the crime rate down by their constant presence in the community, particularly at intersections and domains hitherto considered no-go areas.

Nana Wiredu said he had received numerous commendations for the police from the people regarding their personal safety and the safety of their workplaces.

According to him, the numerous complaints and reports of armed robbery attacks, break-ins and snatching of handbags at night had reduced.

The assembly member for Ahinsan Estate also commended Rev. Ebenezer Osei Afriyie of the Kingdom Seekers Ministries for his contribution towards the development of the area.

The Asokwa District Police Commander, DSP George Bawa, received the barricades on behalf of the police and expressed his appreciation and that of the entire police to the assembly member.

He noted that policing was a shared responsibility and urged residents not to hesitate to provide the police with information that would assist it to either prevent crime or arrest perpetrators of crime.

DSP Bawa also appealed to other corporate entities and individuals to emulate the example of the assembly member and assist the police in whatever way they could.
