Amenfiman Rural Bank opens branch in Kumasi
The Amenfiman Rural Bank Limited at Wassa Akropong in the Wassa Amenfi East District in the Western Region has opened a branch at Santasi in Kumasi.

This brings to 12 the number of branches being operated by the bank. These are Wassa Akropong, Wassa Akropong High Street, Manso Amenfi, Asankragwa, Samreboi and Nkoso Fie, Dunkwa on Offin, Prestea, Bawdie, Enchi, Tanso and the newly inaugurated Santasi branch in Kumasi.
This is the first time in the history of rural banking in Ghana that a rural bank has opened a branch outside a region in which it was officially registered.
Warm reception
The Chief Executive of the bank, Mr Alexander Asmah, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception given to the Amenfiman Rural Bank in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the bank was not in the region to compete with other rural banks but to add to the good work and professionalism rural banks in the Ashanti Region had exhibited over the years.
He acknowledged that rural banks in the Ashanti Region had proved their worth and carved an enviable niche for the industry.
For the past five years, the Amenfiman Rural Bank has registered consistent growth in its operations and made very significant strides in the rural banking industry.
Notable among them were the awards for the Best Deposit Mobilisation Rural Bank and the second Most Profitable Rural Bank in Ghana.

The bank, as of December 2015, registered, nurtured and gave financial literacy to approximately 12,500 customers and put them under their microfinance scheme.
Mission
The bank’s mission is to support petty trading and smaller businesses to understand and appreciate business and banking.
The bank has, therefore, given credit support to petty traders and small business owners and educated them to ensure that the products are utilised appropriately so that the customers can realise the anticipated profit and pay back the loans.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr Tony Aubynn, commended the management team and staff for their hard work that had brought the bank this far.
