Apostolic Church dedicates temple

The President of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, Apostle Ebenezer N. Abebrese, has expressed worry over the high level of indiscipline in society and the rush for wealth among the country’s youth.

According to him, in spite of the fact that the word of God is continually being preached, many people are not heeding it and continue to disregard laid-down principles of good behaviour.

Apostle Abebrese said this on the occasion of the dedication of a temple belonging to the church at Community 5 in Tema. The occasion also marked the 15th anniversary celebration of the English Assembly of the Apostolic Church in Tema.

He said the time had come for the youth to consider the possibility of filling key positions in the church in order to build up a workforce that was ready to see the church develop further.

He said: "Staying in one’s comfort zone and thinking that others will propagate the gospel is a recipe for disaster and must be discouraged.”

He urged Christians to go on evangelism in remote and undeveloped areas of the country to convert people to become Christians.

Apostle Dr Aaron Ami-Narh, the resident poastor, recounted the strenuous efforts of the founder members way back in early 1958 when the church was begun under a mango tree close to the defunct Meridian Hotel in Tema.

He said even though outside influences fought against the establishment of a church in the community, the founder members never relented but persevered and ensured that the church was firmly rooted in the community.

He commended members of the church for their dedication, which has contributed to successes chalked up over the years.
