Mr Edwin Akoto, the Project Engineer at the Kumasi office of the company made the presentation on behalf of the Managing Director of the company, Mr A.Y.  Abeberese at a ceremony at the Police Depot in Kumasi.

Mr Akoto noted that, it was the avowed aim of the company to give some of its income to assist the public as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

He said the company was enthused about the Police Band Unit to take that pragmatic initiative to put up a permanent place for the unit and assured of the company's preparedness to partner with them.

Mr Akoto, who is also an architect, assured to provide free technical consultancy advice to their outfit when the need arose.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye, the Ashanti Police Band Director, DSP G.A.Tawia, commended the company for its donation and gave the assurance that they would use the money for the intended purpose.

He noted that the Police Band Unit was at first housed in a garage, but through the unit’s initiative and absolute support from DCOP Kofi Boakye, the unit was able to solicit funds from companies and other private individuals.

DSP Tawia announced that the unit had eight rooms consisting of an orderly room, administrator’s office, Director of Music’s Office (DMO), logistics, regimental practising band room, a library, and an office for the band master.

He, however, called for more assistance to complete the dance band offices which he said, were at the ground level.
