Ashfoam, Rotary Club organise blood donation exercise

Ashanti Foam Factory Limited (ASHFOAM), together with the Rotary Club of Accra, Dzorwulu, have organised a blood donation exercise for the National Blood Bank as part of the two institution’s commitment to supporting society.

The event, which took place at the Achimota Main Transport Terminal, witnessed about 140 people of both organisations who turned-up for the execrise.

According to Mr Joe Ampem-Darko Antwi, the Marketing Communications Manager of Ashfoam, the event was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

Mr Ampem-Darko said Ashfoam had over the years contributed to society in the areas of health delivery,education, environment, water, sanitation among other social needs to augment national development.

He debunked the impression among people who were willing to donate blood towards a worthy cause but were afraid because of the fear of complications. He, therefore,appealed to the authorities of the National Blood Bank at Korle Bu to intensify sensitisation campaigns that will take away the erroneous perception.

The President of the Rotary Club of Accra Dzorwulu, Johnson Dweden, thanked staff of the two companies for their contribution to a worthy cause and urged more corporate institutions to carry out such laudable interventions.
