Backbiting undermining security services
The Brong Ahafo Regional Commander of the Ghana Prisons Service, Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) Alhassan Waah Nahii, has expressed grave concern over backbiting that he said was gradually creeping into the country’s security services.
According to him, such evil practice undermines the activities of the security services and the situation is not helping the various security services to project their image well to the general public.

He further expressed worry over the attitude of some officers who under the cover of anonymity wrote letters about their superiors to the various quarters with an intention of undermining their work so that they would take over their positions.
“Officers should help their commanders and other superior officers to project the image of the security services and stop the pull-him-down syndrome,” he stated.
The outgone Regional Commander, DDP Dery, called on the officers to give the incoming Commander the necessary support to enable him to discharge his duties.
Six officers who distinguished themselves in the year under review were rewarded for their discipline and hard work.
