Battery missing from DRIP tipper truck in Konongo
A battery has been stolen from a tipper truck, part of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) equipment sent to Konongo in the Asante Akim Central Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The truck, along with other DRIP equipment, was parked at the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly premises while officials awaited the completion of training for the machine operators.
During a routine check on Thursday [August 29, 2024], officials discovered the battery was missing, prompting immediate notification to the police.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Robert Yaw Kwaakye has condemned the theft, emphasizing that such actions could hinder the government’s efforts.
He also assured that the Assembly would increase surveillance to protect the equipment.
Police in Konongo have launched an investigation into the theft.
