Blue Rose City gets police post
A new police post to address the security concerns of residents of Blue Rose City at Budumburam in the Central Region has been inaugurated.
The facility which was donated by Blue Rose Ltd, an estate developer, comes with two fully furnished offices and a well-stocked charge office.
The company also handed over a two bedroom apartment to accommodate police officers who will be posted to the station, as well as a motorbike to facilitate the movement of the officers.
The Director-General Technical of the Ghana Police Service COP Frank Adu-Poku, who inaugurated the post, said he was grateful to the company for the gesture.
Constraints
Mr Adu-Poku said the Ghana Police Service was under severe constraint to bring policing to the doorsteps of the people because of the lack of facilities and was therefore confident that the station would help enhance security in the area .
According to him, the station would not only serve residents of the Blue Rose City, but the police would also reach out to people in surrounding communities.
Significance
The Chief Executive Officer of Blue Rose Ltd, Mr Eric Ebo Acquah, said the presence of the police in the community signified peace and security for residents.
He further pledged to ensure that the police were comfortable to afford them the needed peace of mind for effective policing.
Mr Acquah pledged the commitment of his outfit to expand the station to include a cell.
The chairman of the Blue Rose City Residents Association, Mr Clement Okine, expressed delight at the inauguration of the post, describing it as a dream come true for residents of the city.
