
See the areas that will be affected by ECG's planned maintenance on September 19, 2025
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works in parts of the Greater Accra and Central Regions on Friday, September 19, 2025, as part of efforts to improve service delivery.
In a notice issued ahead of the exercise, ECG said the works will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Greater Accra Region, affecting residents of Tuba, Kokrobite, Old Bortianor, Old Aplaku, Paa Dan, Israel, Alhaji, and surrounding areas.
In the Central Region, maintenance works will also be carried out from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Areas expected to be affected include Fiifi Pratt, Millennium Junction, Nyanyano Township, Ojobi, Akraman, Breku Township, Senya Township, Bonsuoku, Ahentia, Small London, Bontroase, Fetteh Township and neighbouring communities.
The power distributor has apologised for the inconvenience the temporary outages may cause, assuring customers that the exercise is necessary to improve supply reliability.
Meanwhile, ECG has explained that a separate power outage experienced in parts of Accra West on Wednesday, September 17, was due to a cable fault at Fetus Junction. Communities affected included Pokuase Happy Home, Amasaman Township, Amasaman Hospital, China Mall area, Plywood area, Rana Motors area, the Electoral Commission area, and surrounding locations.
The company said engineers are working to rectify the fault and restore supply as soon as possible. It expressed regret for the disruption caused to customers.
