Bombande nominated Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated a former Executive Director of the West Africa Peace Building Network (WANEP), Mr. Emmanuel Bombande, as a Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

A statement signed by the Minister for Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, also announced the nomination of former District Chief Executive Joseph Agmor Tetteh and the Member of Parliament for Nkwanta North, John Oti Bless, as Deputy Ministers for the Eastern Region and Local Government & Rural Development respectively.

Mr. Bombande resigned from WANEP in 2015 to take up a diplomatic appointment as a Head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and consequently a Special Assistant to the UN General Secretary’s Special Representative to West Africa.

From 2005-2007 Mr Bombande was involved in finding a lasting solution to the Nkonya-Alavanyo Conflict in the Volta Region as well as helping to facilitate the national dialogue between the government and civil society organizations in Togo.
