The gesture is aimed at assisting the district assembly to improve on the sanitation situation in the district.

The District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe, Madam Veronica Antwi-Adjei, also presented some of the bins to the authorities at Pramso, a town in the district, in support of the National Sanitation Day activities.

She said the government was doing everything within its power to improve upon the sanitation situation.

She said the assembly had set up a five-member committee to develop a plan of action to be implemented on the national clean-up days in order to achieve effective results.

The Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Bosomtwe District, Mr John Raphael Anane, who is also an assembly member in the community, received the bins. He assured the DCE that the wastebins would be put to good use and well maintained.

The DCE and the NADMO coordinator had earlier in the day led the people of Pramso in a clean-up exercise in connection with the observance of the National Sanitation Day.
