CEIBS holds 5th graduation ceremony
The China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) has held its 5th graduation ceremony for its Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) and Women Entrepreneurship and Leadership for Africa (WELA) students.
The graduation had 42 EMBA and 30 WELA students, all of the class of 2013, graduating.
Addressing the graduands, the Founder and President of CEIBS, Professor Pedro Nueno, said the pillar of the school was the alumni and, therefore, encouraged the graduands to keep coming to the school.
He also said that listening to the national anthems of Ghana and China was energising, pointing out that this meant that both countries must continue working hard.
Delivering his address, the President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), James Asare-Adjei, challenged the graduating class to see themselves as entrepreneurs who were well placed to turn the situation of unemployed graduates around.
Challenges
He added that some of the challenges were in areas such as skills, human resource, lack of job vacancies and the energy challenge.
He asked how the latter could be turned into an opportunity considering solar panels as an alternative energy source.
He said skills, innovation and efficiency were the keys to staying relevant in solving some of the problems in the industry.
In his address, Mr Jan Van Betten, Founder of New Union for the Development of a Green Economy, (NUDGE) stated, “Everyone can make a difference in the world with everything that they have learnt.”
Mr William Yaw Sakyi Bekoe, a recipient of the outstanding graduate student 2013 EMBA award, in an interview, said, “It is important for students to join CEIBS with an open mind and a willingness to be part of a team and not be afraid to express themselves.”
He urged other students to use their knowledge to make meaningful impact on their communities and the world at large.
