Doctorate Degrees for Asantehene, Speaker and Kan Dapaah
The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Friday awarded three of Ghana's most eminent and distinguished personalities - Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene; Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho, Speaker of Parliament; and Hon. Albert Kan Dapaah, a Chartered Accountant and Politician - with Honorary Doctorate Degrees.

The ceremony which took place at the Forecourt of the University was witnessed by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama as the special guest of honour, former President John Agyekum Kufuor; the Chief of Staff, Dr. Prosper Bani; First Deputy Speaker, Ebow Barton Oduro; Finance Minister Seth Terkper, Minority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu; Deputy Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, as well as other Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, Members of the University Council, Members of Convocation, Chiefs and Queen Mothers from La, Nungua, and Asanteman.
Prior to the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Joshua Alabi led President Mahama to officially commission the University's newly constructed 6,000 capacity lecture and administration block complexes entirely financed from the university's internally generated resources.
