The management of the airport took a decision on Thursday, December 3, this year to cancel all domestic flights to and from the airport in order to prevent any unforeseen occurrence.

The Tamale Airport Manager, Mr Michael Omane Mensah told Graphic Online that some flights have started landing at the airport.

He said on Thursday, December 17 a plane landed at the airport while another flight operated by Africa World also landed on Friday, December 18, 2015.

He however, said visibility was not stable and that management was still studying the weather patterns in order to ensure safe landing of flights.

"We are trying to see if we can sustain it", Mr Mensah said, adding that all the airline operators were studying the weather conditions before they could start full operation.

It will be recalled that visibility in the northern part of the country dropped from between 3,000 to 4,000 meters to 400 to 800 meters thereby making it difficult for flights to land or take off at the Tamale Airport about two weeks ago.
