DVLA embarks on electronic vehicle registration Oct 1

Beginning October 1 to December 31, this year, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) will embark on a new electronic vehicle registration and documentation system.

The 90-day exercise would begin with vehicles with customised number plates to re-certify their registration and enrol them onto the new system.

The re-certification exercise, according to a statement, issued by DVLA and signed by the Public Relations Manager, Mr Francis Asamoah Tuffour, “is geared towards providing better service delivery to customers and also do away with fake customised registration numbers in the country.

“We are, therefore, requesting vehicle owners with customised registration numbers to present their registration documents to the prestige service centre at the DVLA head office, Accra,” it said.

The statement said, “owners whose records are found to be authentic would be issued with a new certificate of title for motor vehicle and a vehicle registration smart card”.
