EC opens applications for proxy voting
The Electoral Commission has set Wednesday, August 17 to Monday, September 26, 2016 to accept applications for proxy voting.
A registered voter who wishes to apply for voting by proxy is therefore required to visit the Commission’s Head Office or the District Office not later than 26th September, 2016 together with the appointed proxy to be processed, a statement signed and issued in Accra by the Head of Communications, Mr Eric Kofi Dzakpasu said.

Alternatively, the appointed proxy may pick the proxy forms on behalf of the applicant to be completed and returned to the Commission’s district office before the specified deadline of 26th September, 2016, the statement said.
In order to qualify to vote by proxy, the applicant must be a registered voter, who due to ill-health or absence from a constituency will be unable to vote on Election Day; the appointed proxy must be a registered voter and not more than one person should be appointed as a proxy by the applicant.
