ECG schedules maintenance works for Oct 28, warns of temporary power cuts in two regions

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will carry out planned maintenance works in parts of the Central and Greater Accra Regions on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to improve service reliability and power distribution.

In a statement, the company said the maintenance exercise will take place between 9 am and 4 pm in the Central Region, and from 9 am to 5 pm in the Greater Accra Region.

The affected areas in the Central Region include Manford, Gomoa Dago, Gomoa Hyeda, Apam Station, Apam Roundabout, Castle, Amamodo, Cocoa House, Bomboa, Gomoa Antseadze, Gomoa Odumasi, Gomoa Manso, Gomoa Kyerenkwanta, Gomoa Obiri, Gomoa Amanful, Gomoa Formanya, Gomoa Kyeren, Gomoa Ngyeresi, Gomoa Brofo, Gomoa Sampa, Gomoa Adaa, Gomoa Ohuan, Gomoa Tweikukrom and surrounding communities.

In the Greater Accra Region, the planned outage will affect Katamanso, ECG Quarters, Adenta Rowi, Adenta Barrier, Prison Junction, Haasto, Haatso Ecomog, Top Herbal, North Legon and their environs.

According to the ECG, the exercise forms part of its regular maintenance programme aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the power distribution network and ensuring a more stable and reliable electricity supply to customers.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” the statement said. “ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise.”

The company urged affected customers to take necessary precautions and apologised for any temporary disruptions to their daily activities.
