ECOWAS satisfied with EPA
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) says it is satisfied with the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between West Africa and the European Union (EU).

According to the chairman of the ECOWAS Commission and the chairman of the council of ministers, they are “very pleased” with the agreement.
The chairman of the ECOWAS Commission, Kadré Désiré Ouedraogo believes the agreement will be advantageous for the West African sub-region.
The two bodies are currently meeting in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast to make a “decisive choice” for the region on economic partnership with the European Union.
This will be on the basis of a report made by the ministerial monitoring committee.
The chairmen of ECOWAS and WEAMU are the chief negotiators, negotiating on behalf of the region.
Meanwhile, government says Ghana has no position on the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) yet.
According to the Foreign Affairs Minister, Hannah Tetteh, government will support any decision by the ECOWAS leadership on the EPA.
