Embrace MASO Cocoa Project - Stonebwoy tells Volta youth

Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has urged the youth in the Volta Region of Ghana to embrace the MASO Cocoa Project at an outreach programme yesterday, July 7.

MASO, literally meaning ‘lift up’ in the Akan language, forms part of the Youth Forward Initiative, led by Solidaridad, in partnership with The MasterCard Foundation, Overseas Development Institute, NCBA-CLUSA, GOAL and Global Communities.

Stonebwoy, who is the Brand Ambassador for Maso Cocoa Project in Ghana, was speaking at an outreach programme for cocoa farming communities in Akome Gborta in the Ho West Constituency of the Volta Region.

“We all have a role to play in cocoa farming so the legacy of our fore parents does not die and also farming is not left in the hands of only elderly persons. The youth have more energy and in these technological times, the youth have more knowledge in making things work easily.

“We the youth have to get involved and with the help of Solidaridad as the mother of the MASO initiative, I deem it very important to align myself with this project. Later on in life, we will feel proud to have been part of this initiative” Stonebwoy stated.

He also noted that the MASO cocoa farming project is a good way of employing the youth who don’t have to go to the cities to seek greener pastures.

“They say the devil finds work for idle hands. We all do not have to trek to Accra. The MASO cocoa farming project is a good way of employing the youth” he added.
Stonebwouy, who won the BET International Act in 2015 and was also a nominee in the  same category this year,  entertained those present  with a short performance

after the durbar.
