Fake landlord nabbed
Two persons, who allegedly defrauded a prospective tenant under the pretext of renting him a room, have been arraigned before a magistrate’s court in Accra.

Yaw Kabotso Azaglo and Joshua Kpongbosu, whose pleas were not taken, were granted bail in the sum of GH¢7,000 with two sureties each.
They were in addition asked to pay a sum of GH¢1,500 each as a security deposit.
The court, presided over by Ms Arit Nsemoh, also issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Nana Akwasi Osei and one Blessing who failed to show up at the court.
Presenting the facts of the case, Chief Inspector Gregory Yeboah said the complainant, Francis A. Ehni, was a private security officer while the accused persons Azaglo and Osei were both self-acclaimed estate agents.
Inspector Yeboah named the other accused persons as Kpongbosu alias Anis, a painter and Blessing.
According to the prosecutor, on May 4, 2015, Ehni approached Blessing to find him an apartment to rent.
The next day, Azaglo called Ehni on phone and told him to meet him at Dome Pillar II.

Ehni met Azaglo together with Osei, Kpongbosu and the said Blessing at the appointed time.
Chief Inspector Yeboah said Azaglo then took Ehni to a chamber and hall apartment and introduced Kpongbosu as the owner of the apartment.
After expressing his desire to rent the apartment, Ehni gave GH¢2,400.00 cash to Azaglo as part payment of GH¢3,000 covering a period of three years.
The prosecutor said three days later, when Ehni went back to inspect the apartment to see if finishing touches had been done, he met a man who indicated that he was the landlord and had not asked any agent to rent out the apartment on his behalf.
On November 27, 2015 Ehni used a different phone number to call Azaglo and told him that he needed a room to rent.
He asked Azaglo to meet him at Parakuo Junction.
When Azaglo showed up, Ehni arrested him with the help of some good Samaritans and took him to the Achimota Police Station.
