The family and colleagues of the late Daniella Emefa Dzikunoo, a 31-year-old Ghanaian who passed away in the United Kingdom, have donated medical equipment worth over $6,000 to the Ho Teaching Hospital in her memory.
The items, which include three patient vital signs monitors, were presented to the hospital by Daniella’s mother, Madam Mabel Maginn, and a family member, Mrs Gifty Fianu, on behalf of her friends and colleagues at the National Health Service (NHS) England, the BME Staff Development Network, the Bristol Railway Engineers, and the cast of Raisin in the Sun at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.
The donation aims to support healthcare delivery at the facility and to continue Daniella’s legacy of compassion and service.
Receiving the items, Chief Executive Officer of the Ho Teaching Hospital, Dr Hintermann K. K. Mbroh, expressed gratitude to the family and donors for their generosity. He commended them for turning their grief into a meaningful act of kindness that will directly benefit patients.
“These monitors are vital tools for improving patient care, and this thoughtful gesture will go a long way to enhance our services,” Dr. Mbroh said.

He also called on other benevolent individuals and organizations to support the hospital in addressing its medical equipment needs.
Daniella, who worked with the NHS in England, passed away on April 22, 2024, after a short illness. Her mother said the donation was inspired by Daniella’s passion for improving healthcare and her commitment to supporting vulnerable people.
“Daniella believed in helping others, especially in health care. We wanted to honour her memory by continuing the work she was passionate about,” Madam Maginn said.
The family has also pledged that 100% of any funds raised in Daniella’s name will go toward improving health education programmes at the Ho Teaching Hospital and training the next generation of healthcare professionals in the Volta Region and beyond.
