The streets are jammed and security is tight as a fully packed Victoria Park is witnessing a procession of chiefs.

The Paramount Chief of Oguaa, Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II and his chiefs have been joined today by the Asantehene as part of the Fetu Afahye procession.

Two royalties, two traditions and crowds of excited subjects from across Ghana and beyond have lined the streets to cheer them on.

Security is tight in the city as dignitaries gather for the grand durbar.

Already the historic city is bustling with people and fun places blasting music, food and drinks.

It is the first time the Asantehene has joined the chiefs and people of Cape Coast.

The Oguaa chiefs led by the Asafo companies, the seven contingents of local militia processed from the Mfantsipim School through to the London bridge through Melcom and joined by the Asantehene's team around Abease to the Victoria park before being addressed by dignitaries.

"I traveled from Tema to see the festival for the first time and I know it will be worth it", Christy said.

Meanwhile on Friday thousands joined arguably one of the world street carnivals, Orange Friday, late Friday afternoon as part of festivities marking the Fetu Afahye.
