Finance Minister lauds Japan for helping to train Ghanaians
The Minister of Finance, Mr Seth Terkper, has lauded the Japanese government for its efforts to train and contribute to the capacity building of Ghanaians.
Since Ghana’s independence, Japan, as part of deepening its bilateral relations with the country, has trained Ghanaians in various institutions and international universities to boost the economic development of Ghana.
“Most of our citizens who have benefited from your training are contributing to the socio-economic development of Ghana, and are holding key positions in the country, “he said.
Mr Terkper made the remarks when the Chief Representative of the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA), Ghana, Mr Koji Makino, visited his office.
The visit was aimed at improving the training of Ghanaians in Japan through JICA.
Capacity building
For his part, Mr Makino said the government of Japan would continue to offer its support to Ghanaians, especially in the area of capacity building.
JICA, Mr Makino said, had sent more than 200 Ghanaians to Japan each year.
