GAF to undertake joint military exercise in Bono and Upper East Regions from May 10 to 20
The Ghana Armed Forces will undertake a military exercise in the general areas of the Bono and Upper East Regions from Sunday, May 10 to Wednesday, May 20.
The exercise, codenamed EXERCISE STORM SHIELD 2026, is an Internal Security and Counter-Insurgency Field Training Exercise aimed at enhancing the operational readiness and rapid-response capability of troops to address contemporary security threats.
Public reassurance
Residents in the two regions may observe increased military activities during the period. The public is advised not to panic but to go about their normal duties, a press statement issued by the GAF said.
The Ghana Armed Forces assured the public of its commitment to safeguarding the territorial integrity, peace, and security of the nation.
