Bishop Harley-Neequaye inducted into office

The Faith Evangelical Mission Worldwide (FEMW) has officially inducted Bishop Bobby Harley-Neequaye to serve a consecutive tenure as its substantive General Overseer and Chief Bishop, with Apostle Enoch Nii Klotey Clottey serving as the General Secretary.

Bishop Harley-Neequaye will have Bishop John Stanley Clottey as his Deputy to oversee affairs of the church for the next four years.

The chief bishop had previously served as the mission's longest-serving general secretary from 1990 until his initial elevation in 2022.

The ceremony, held last Saturday at the church’s headquarters in Accra, drew numerous high-ranking clergymen, traditional leaders, church officials and church members to witness the transition.

Looking ahead

In his address after the induction, Bishop Harley-Neequaye expressed his gratitude to the congregation and accepted the mandate alongside his leadership team.

He also said his renewal of office was a period for sobering contemplation rather than mere festivity.

“I wish to express my profound gratitude to the Lord God Almighty for showing faithfulness to His grace in all the things that have happened within the FEMW leading to this auspicious day,” he expressed.

The general overseer also urged prospective appointees of his team to utilise their God-given gifts for the progress of the church.

“We are in the Kingdom business together and no one should hinder God’s work by holding back.

“I assure you that I shall commit myself to carrying out my duties with integrity, obedience and sincere desire to glorify and honour God.

I believe that the same goes for my deputy and the general secretary as well,” he promised.

Church history

The history of the church was also highlighted during the service.

The church began as a modest gathering of 30 relatives in a rented dining hall in 1973 under its founder, Chief Bishop Isaac Rex Noi.

Over the course of five decades, the mission expanded significantly, encompassing more than 60 international branches, including assemblies in the United States.

Beyond its evangelical expansion, the church has established major community institutions such as the Faith Evangelical Mission Hospital at Bubiashie and a complex school at Mataheko.
