Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre congratulates 2024 National Best Nurse/Midwife
The management of the Cervical Cancer Prevention and Training Centre (CCPTC) at the Catholic Hospital, Battor in the Volta Region, has congratulated an alumna, Miriam Bonah for winning the 2024 Best National Nurse/Community Health Nurse and Midwife from the Tamale Regional Hospital.
Mrs Bonah, a community health nurse and midwife from the Tamale Regional Hospital, was presented with the award last Friday at the fifth Annual Dinner and Awards Night organised by the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) last Friday.

She was honoured for her over 19 years of impact on maternal and child health issues across the Northern Region and took home a brand new Toyota Belta saloon.
“The CCPTC congratulates you, Miriam, for coming out as the 2024 National Best Nurse/Midwife.
“We are proud of you. Continue the good fight,” the message said.
Training
To make more impact in her community and provide the needed support for females in the fight against cervical cancer, she has undergone training for Modules One and Two at the CCPTC.
She passed out from the training of Module 1 on July 12, 2024, and almost immediately enrolled for the Module 2 course which she completed last August 16.
While Module 1 equipped Mrs Bonah with the knowledge and skills to set up a screening unit and screen for cervical precancer, Module 2 has given her the knowledge and skills to treat precancerous lesions of the cervix with thermal coagulation and cryotherapy.
