Ghana’s RITA Africa to train over 15,000 tech professionals in Zimbabwe
A Ghanaian tech education institution, Rise In Tech Africa (RITA Africa), has struck a partnership with a Zimbabwean outfit, OmniContact BPO Services, to train over 15,000 staff of OmniContact in the Southern African country.
It comes as another feather in the cap of the in-demand Ghanaian tech education institution whose services have been sought in over 25 countries across the continent.
OmniContact is a subsidiary of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, the largest provider of telecommunications services in Zimbabwe.
A statement announcing the partnership said, “This collaboration brings together the strengths of two visionary organisations united by a common goal to empower the next generation of African tech professionals with world-class, industry-relevant training and global certification pathways”.
Strategic alliance
With the strategic alliance, RITA Africa, also known as Rise In Tech Africa, will serve as the official tech training partner, providing cutting-edge, practical training across a diverse portfolio of high-demand tech programmes to the staff of OmniContact, marking a major milestone in inter-African collaboration for digital transformation.
These include Data Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, DevOps, Software Engineering, Fullstack Web Development, Digital Marketing, and Digital Creative Design.
OmniContact BPO Services, on the other hand, will serve as the outreach and distribution partner, leveraging its expansive network within Econet Wireless, its staff, and its customer base across Zimbabwe and other regions to extend access to the intended premium training opportunity.
“Together, we are reaching the dynamic workforce of OmniContact, the broader staff of Econet Wireless, and thousands of aspiring tech talents in Zimbabwe and beyond,” the statement said.
“With a vision to make Africa a global hub for skilled tech talent, where African experts are at the forefront of the global tech innovations, driving change and making impactful contributions, RITA Africa continues to expand its footprint across the continent by delivering globally recognised training and certification programmes to aspiring professionals,” it added.
Partnership
“This partnership is a defining moment. We are not just training people; we are building a future where African youth are creators of technology, not just consumers,” the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director of Academy at RITA Africa, Darlington Yeboah Faddams, a first-class graduate in Information Technology from the Ghana Communications Technology University, said.
“As Africa emerges as a force in global technology, this partnership between RITA Africa and OmniContact marks a bold step forward, one that promises to redefine the continent’s tech narrative, one learner at a time,” he added.
The collaboration aims to close the digital skills gap in Africa and equip the continent’s workforce with job-ready capabilities to compete and lead in the global digital economy.
“OmniContact’s mandate is to create meaningful opportunities through innovation and outreach. Partnering RITA Africa brings that vision to life in a way that will have a lasting impact on lives and livelihoods,” the Chief Operating Officer at OmniContact BPO Services, Otis Tawanda Makahamadze, added.
The initiative is considered a powerful example of how cross-border partnerships within Africa can drive transformation, innovation and economic empowerment.
