Kumawuman Rural Bank inaugurates new Drobonso branch building
The Kumawuman Rural Bank PLC with headquarters in Kumawu has inaugurated a new office building for its branch at Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains District in the Ashanti Region.
The new office building, located close to the market in the town, is expected to bring financial services closer to the people within the operational areas of the bank.
Hitherto, the branch which was officially established in 2006, operated in an establishment that was too small and made it very difficult for the workers to provide the needed services to its customers.
As a result, the board of directors of the bank decided to put up a new office building in their quest to ensure financial inclusion and to improve the local economy within its catchment area.
Efforts
In a speech delivered on his behalf at the ceremony last Wednesday, the Managing Director (MD) of the ARB Apex Bank PLC, Alex Kwasi Awuah, commended the board and management for their relentless efforts and commitment towards the execution of the project.
The new Drobonso branch office building
He said the building represented much more than bricks and mortar, it signified a significant new chapter for the bank in its commitment to innovation, collaboration and growth for the benefit of the people.
He said “As we move forward, let us build upon this solid foundation by supporting a culture of excellence that will make the new building a true beacon of customer satisfaction,” adding “We are excited about the potential this new space holds and we eagerly anticipate an increase in customer deposits for the branch.”
Pay loans
The Board Chairman of the bank, Dr Alex Adomako-Mensah, advised customers to be truthful in the payment of their loans to enhance the operations of the bank.
He further assured the customers that efforts were underway to install an automated teller machine (ATM) at the branch to serve them.
He indicated that the bank would continue to provide the needed support to farmers, traders and other clients, to improve economic activities in the district, and added that the bank would continue to play a key role in the development of the area.
He urged the chiefs and the people to own the bank and make conscious efforts towards sustaining its operations, saying “this branch is among the best-performing branches of the bank.”
Dr Adomako-Mensah, who is also a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, charged the workers of the branch to improve upon their customer relations to attract more clients and shareholders.
Digital services
The Chief of Drobonso, Nana Dwamena Dankwa Dwebisaw, who was the special guest of honour, lauded the bank for digitalising their services which had made it easier for customers to transact business with the bank.
He added that hitherto, some residents carried huge sums of money en route to Kumawu and Kumasi for commercial activities but were often attacked and robbed on the way by armed robbers.
He entreated the people to do business with the bank, as it was the surest way to sustain its operations in the area and further advised the people that it was unsafe for them to keep huge sums of money in their rooms.
