Lordina Mahama donates to six orphanages
The First Lady, Lordina Mahama, last December, donated to six orphanages across the country during the Christmas festivities.
The beneficiary institutions were the Osu Children's Home and Christ Faith Foster Home (Frafraha) in the Greater Accra Region; Bethesda and FrankMay Homes in the Bono East Region, and the Anfaani and Tamale Children's Home in the Northern Region.
Items donated included bags of rice, oil, mackerel, sardine, spaghetti, milo, nido, gari mix, gari, tom brown, full cream milk, biscuits, assorted drinks, bottled water, chocolate, tissue papers, sanitary pads and liquid soap, among other items.
Donations
The donations formed part of Mrs Mahama's long-standing tradition, through the Lordina Foundation, of providing care and championing the welfare of these six adopted orphanages spanning three regions.

Mrs Mahama, over the years, has been committed to championing issues of the welfare of the vulnerable in society, especially women and children, providing healthcare to all regions in the country and beyond.
Over the decades
Over the last two decades, the Lordina Foundation adopted the homes as special projects, driven by her compassion for society's most vulnerable.
She has also upheld a similar pledge to residents of the Gambaga "Witches Camp", supporting them with essentials for nearly 20 years.
During festivities like Christmas and Easter, the Lordina Foundation delivers generous supplies to bring joy and inclusion to these groups during festive periods.
In a special highlight as part of the festive season, the Lordina Foundation partnered with the "La Bonne Femme" group to host a lively party for children at the Osu Children's Home.
The event featured a sumptuous meal, snacks and fun activities including musical chairs, dance competitions and a bouncing castle, and the children were provided with toys and learning materials.
Foundation chairman
The Chairman of the Lordina Foundation, Pastor Kwame Sarpong Boateng, who presented the items, extended felicitations from the Founder and President of the Lordina Foundation, the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, to the management and staff of the orphanages and assured them that the foundation was still committed to supporting the orphanages in the future.
For her part, Linda Fofo Kotei, a teacher at Christ Faith Forster Home, Frafraha, expressed her appreciation to the Lordina Foundation for their continuous support over the years.
She said that since she started working at the home, the foundation always comes around during Easter and Christmas to donate several items to them, and the generous donations have helped the home to function well all these years.
Continues support
The Supervisor of Christ Faith Forster Home, Adu Amoako, indicated that he started working at the home in 2015, and by then, the First Lady had been donating to the home, and while in opposition, she never stopped reaching out to the children.
“So, I can say that the items she donates during Christmas and Easter have helped the home a lot and we pray that the good Lord continues to bless her and keep her alive to continue the good work she is doing for the vulnerable children,” he said.
Heartfelt desire
Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, a Technical Director at the Office of the First Lady, in a message, said: "Our mother and First Lady asked me to come and celebrate this special day with you.
“Though she could not attend in person, she sends her warmest regards. She wants you to know you are not alone, and she loves you all dearly. Be obedient and respectful, and God Almighty will bless you."
