National Service Authority launches new portal for re-registration of 2025 persons
The Ghana National Service Authority (GNSA) has launched a new online registration portal for prospective national service persons, suspending the previous Central Service Management Platform (CSMP).
Subsequently, the GNSA has declared all previous registrations conducted in June 2025 "null and void,” and has directed all prospective national service persons to re-register on the new digital platform, www.gnsa.gov.gh.
In a statement issued in Accra yesterday, the authority announced that the online registration for the 2025/2026 service year would open today and close on October 15 this year.
As a result, the new service year will start on Monday, November 3, this year.
The statement explained that the change followed a directive from the President, John Dramani Mahama, for a technical and forensic audit into the operations of the previous system, as the audit found the system unsatisfactory.
The audit exposed several data integrity issues, including discrepancies in ages, identity details, and the registration records found the old platform dissatisfactory.
The authority assured all prospective personnel that all legitimate registrants on the previous system will receive a refund of their service fees following a detailed step-by-step registration guideline that will be published on the new website from the launch date of October 7, 2025.
Transparency
The statement said to promote transparency and security, the GNSA has implemented strict information technology (IT) reforms and controls, and was working with the Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) to strengthen financial oversight and payroll management.
According to the statement, regular checks would be carried out to ensure allowances were paid on time and to prevent payroll fraud.
“These measures are designed to make payroll fraud a thing of the past and ensure personnel receive their allowances on time,” the authority said in the statement.
New opportunities
It said the new national service initiative was not only to modernise registration but also to expand opportunities for service persons beyond traditional postings.
This initiative includes Youth in Agriculture Programme, which seeks to provide practical training and start-up support through partnerships with organisations such as Agri-Impact Limited, Community Improvement Programmes (CIP) which would engage service persons in public health, literacy, sanitation and civic education, private sector partnerships that would link graduates to job opportunities locally and internationally and service persons skills capacity training to enhance soft skills and employability for future careers.
