
President nominates 81 for 2nd batch MMDCEs
The President, John Dramani Mahama, has nominated 81 more metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives (MMDCEs) in nine regions, bringing the list of new MMDCEs to 152, with 109 positions yet to be filled.
Key among the second batch of appointees are Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Justice Arthur for the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, Frederick Faustinus Faidoo for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Adam Abubakar Takoro for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and Margaret Naana Ackom for the Gomoa East Metropolitan Assembly.
The list features one nominee each for Savannah, Ashanti and Bono East regions; two for Bono Region; 14 each for the Northern and Western regions; 15 for Upper East Region; 11 for Upper West Region, and 22 for the Central Region.
Chief executives of the assemblies will have to be approved by at least two-thirds of the assembly members.
Nominees
The appointments, as announced via a statement by the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, had Adjei Mensah for Techiman South in the Bono East Region, Yakubu Yussif Castro for West Gonja in the Savannah Region, Asante Boateng for Sunyani West and Hajia Fati Abubakar for Berekum East, both in the Bono Region.
Upper West
The nominees for Upper West Region are James Wor for Daffiama-Bussie-Issa, Mary Haruna for Nadowli Kaleo, Alhaji Nuru Issah Danwana for Wa, Richard Wulo for Wa West, Adamu Sayibu for Wa East, Peter N.N. To-Ang for Jirapa, Alhaji Adams Muazu for Lawra, Anthony Ziniel for Nandom, Naawulie Ireneous Basingbie for Lambussie, Abudu Fuseini Gbene for Sissala West and Adamu Yakubu for Sisala East.
Western
For the Western Region, Peter Amponsah heads to the Amenfi Central Assembly, Ebenezer Aidoo heads to Ahanta West, Raymond Nana Ebbah heads to Amenfi East, Priscilla Yorke takes heads to Amenfi West, Abdul Majeed Dokurugu heads to Effia Kwesimintim, Joseph Agyekum heads to Ellembelle, while Sophia Aubynn heads to Mpohor.
The rest of the appointments in the region are Benedicta Boadi for Jomoro, Herbet Kuah Dickson for Nzema East, Matthew Kofi Ayeh for Prestea Huni Valley, Paul Otis Dentu for Shama, Ebenezer Cobbinah for Tarkwa Nsuaem and Alhassan Ibrahim for Wassa East.
Central
For the Central Region, the President nominated Charlotte Boakye for Assin Fosu, Sylvester Amakye-Nyarko for Assin North, Jonathan Birikorang for Assin South, Andrews Kojo Dodoo for Ajumako/Enyan/Essiam, Olivia Bentil for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa, Daniel Mensah Wardy for Abura/Aseku/Kwamankese, Eric Gyamfi Odoom for Agona West, Abraham Henry Arthur for Effutu, Ismaeel Nana Asamoah for Ekumfi, and Ismail Zagoon-Saeed for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirem.
The rest are Eric Stanley Acquah for Mfantseman, Isaac Yawson for Twifo Atti-Mokwa, Patrick Fiable for Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira, George Anane for Upper Denkyira East, Isaac Nsiah for Upper Denkyira West, Seth Sabah Serwornoo-Banini for Awutu Senya East, Eghan Kalala Nyamekye for Awutu Senya West, Mohammed Kassim for Gomoa West, Hackman Kobina Aidoo for Gomoa Central, and Samuel Oscar Boakye for Agona East.

Northern
The nominees for the Northern Region include Abdul-Hafiz Adam for Gushiegu, Iddrisu Yakubu Dasana for Karaga, Imoro Yakubu Kakpagu for Kumbungu, Azindow Hamzah Moabalyn for Mion, Rosina Zenabu Abdul-Rahman for Nanton, Abdul-Samed Hamza for Nanumba North, and Musah Abdul Rashid for Nanumba South.
The rest are George Wumbei Bilimor for Saboba, Abdulai Imoro Gong for Sagnarigu, Alhassan Fuseini for Savelugu, Seidu Braimah for Tolon, Sugri Muniru for Yendi, and George Lakob Tanei for Zabzugu.
