Royal Ladies Ministries donates to Children's home

The Royal Ladies Ministries of the Royalhouse Chapel International Saturday donated items to the West Africa Mercy Ministries (WAMM) orphanage home at Adentan in Accra.

The items included bags of rice, cooking oil, tin fish, beverages, bread, baby food, sandals, baby diapers, sanitary kits, bags of sachet and bottled water among others.

The group also present an undisclosed amount to the management of the home as part of the ministries’ social responsibility.

The items were donated to the orphanage on behalf of the President General of the Ministries, Rev Mrs. Rita Korankye Ankrah (Mama Rita) by the Royal Ladies Ministries of Faith Cathedral- Ashalley Botwe Assembly.

Presenting the items to the orphanage, the president of Royal Ladies Ministries of Faith Cathedral- Ashalley Botwe Assembly, Mrs Doris Odoi Tetteh said Mama Rita has the wellbeing of children at heart and believes the items would help relieve the pressure on the management of the home.

The donation is also part of activities to mark the Royal Ladies Ministries week celebration of the assembly.

The group who visited the orphanage could not withhold their tears as the director of the orphanage, Rev William Tetteh Deku briefed them about the rationale behind setting up the orphanage.

He said unlike other orphanages, the WAMM orphage home gives shelter to children with special needs.

Some of the children have autism, HIV, Hydrocephalus, hole-in-heart, virtually impairment among others were neglected by their parents because of their conditions, he said.

He said one of the children who has hydrocephalus has no hope of survival as doctors at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital could not do anything to help him.

“We did all that we could so that he will survive but the unfortunate they said there is nothing they can do to help him. So we are just waiting for him to finally go home,” Mr Deku said.

Little Angel (not real name) was seen in pain through the visit.

He said two of the children who were unable to walk because of their illness as at the time of bringing them to the home can now walk while those with HIV disease have started antiretroviral treatment.

He added that the other children were also on various form of medications.

Royal ladies Ministries commended

Mr Deku said he had heard about the great work the President General of the Royal Ladies Ministries, Rev Mrs. Rita Korankye Ankrah was doing to empower women in the country.

He commended the group for the gesture, saying the items would go a long way to improve upon the wellbeing of the children in their care.

For his part, the Resident Pastor of Royalhouse Chapel International, Faith Cathedral, Pastor Fred Nii Odoi Tetth who accompanied the ladies to the orphanage commended the managers of the home for the professional manner in which the orphanage was being operated.

He added that following the steps of the General Overseer of Royalhouse Chapel International, Apostle General, Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah, the assembly would continue to support the orphanage in its operations.

He added that the children if taken care of will become better future leaders.
