Ghana's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Italy, Mrs Eudora Quartey-Koranteng, has presented her letters of credence to Italian President Sergio Mattarella in the capital, Rome.

An official at Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the Daily Graphic that Mrs Quartey-Koranteng conveyed greetings from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the people of Ghana to President Mattarella.

She said the ambassador disclosed that the facility would be used to promote the various programmes of the government to improve the human resource capacity of local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The ambassador, she hinted, said the government was looking forward to drawing down on the facility in fulfilment of the pledge.

She also emphasised the government’s commitment to making Ghana an active player in the 21st Century world arena under the “Ghana Beyond Aid” initiative which sought to build a self-sufficient Ghana that could partner investors, the official stated.

She said the “Free Senior High School”, “Planting for food and jobs” and “one-district, one-factory” were some of the key projects currently being aggressively implemented throughout Ghana, the official noted.

The official reiterated Ghana’s offer of a viable environment for business, and called for more Italian investors to consider Ghana a business destination.

The ambassador also presented to the Italian President, letters of recall of her predecessor, Paulina Patience Abayage, who is currently the Minister of the Upper East Region of Ghana.
