Graphic, Ecobank deepen business relations

A management team from Ecobank Ghana, led by the Head of Corporate Affairs, Ms Rita Tsegah, has called on the Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Mr Ato Afful.

The call was to thank the group for its support to the Ecobank business and also discuss how the two institutions could collaborate more, going forward.

Present at the meeting were the Editor of the Daily Graphic, Mr Kobby Asmah; the Editor of Graphic Business, Mr Theophilus Yartey, and the Adverts Manager of the group, Mr George Danso.

The Ecobank team included the Deputy Head, Marketing and Communications, Mr Daniel Kasser Tee, and the Media Manager, Mrs Ethel Adamah.
Way forward

Speaking at the meeting, Ms Tsegah said ECOBANK found it necessary to call on the GCGL to have discussions on the way forward for the two institutions.

“At this time when we are just about going to our budgeting, we thought it was prudent to pass by and have some discussions and thank you first and foremost for the way you have supported us and see what we can do together, going forward,” she said.

She said the media were a critical aspect of the bank’s business and, therefore, it realised it was necessary to visit the GCGL and have an insight into the new things that were happening in the media industry and how best the two institutions could together exploit them for their mutual benefit.

“You help us with advocacy and I think for now the digital agenda is something that is very important for us, especially with respect to financial inclusion, and

we expect a lot of support in that regard,” she stated.

Mr Afful, for his part, noted that the group had, over the years, enjoyed a very good relationship with Ecobank.

“We have had a very good relationship with you over the years, and as we develop from our traditional print based to digital, partners such as you are the ones we want to work with to take us farther.

“We are influencers and we will help you engage and connect to the communities in which you operate.

You are a big brand and whatever it is that goes out in your name is important and has to be well managed, so we will continue to help you in that regard,” he said.

He urged the team from Ecobank to collaborate more with the editors of the various brands of the GCGL, since the editors were the faces of the business.

“The editors are the brand managers and it is important that you get to know them and build relationships with them,” Mr Afful said.

Welcomed engagements

Mr Asmah said engagements such as they had were always welcome because they created a platform to discuss the way forward in promoting the two institutions.

“For us in the media, we always thrive on information and any forum that will guarantee us this information is mostly welcome.

We pledge our support to Ecobank and we will all look out for ways to deepen the collaboration,” he said.

Continue to support Ecobank

Mr Yartey also noted that the GCGL would continue to support Ecobank, saying: “Ecobank has always been our friend and it will continue to be. We have always supported the bank and this will continue.”
