The fair was put together by health professionals in the church, with support from health volunteers from health facilities and was part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary of the church in Kumasi.

The churches offered free medical services to the people in the community in the areas of ENT, eye and dental screening, as well free physiotherapy sessions.

Over 400 people, both young and old within the Edwenase, Agric, Kwadaso and Ohwimase areas, benefitted from the philanthropic activity of the church.

The beneficiaries were also offered free laboratory screening for blood sugar, Hepatitis B among others.

Medical officers, specialists and consultants were available to diagnose ailments, with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians onn hand to dispense medicines for the treatment of those ailments.

A Senior Pastor of the church, Rev. John Abu Baidoo, who is also the District Supervising Minister (DSM), told the Daily Graphic in an interview that the health fair was the churches’ way of reaching out to society

The Chairman of the anniversary planning committee, Deacon Raphael Owusu Antwi, who is also a pharmacist, underscored the purpose of the 25th Anniversary Health Fair, saying he believed it would further enhance the image of the churches within the various localities where they operated.

According to him, the church had a mandate to impact society and further register its strong presence in the communities, especially when the church was celebrating its Silver jubilee.
