The three-month exercise is expected, among other expectations, to improve the physical fitness, intelligence management techniques and the management of explosive devices by the participants.

Importance

In a speech read on his behalf at the opening session, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan, said it was essential for security institutions to periodically undertake capacity-building measures not only to position themselves against terrorism threats but also ensure that they prevented such attacks from occurring.

“In a global world, it is also important to appreciate the need to undertake this training in the face of terrorist attacks and threats to the security of nations worldwide, especially in Africa. Being prepared adequately against terrorist threats is a sure way of achieving success when faced with a crisis,” he said.
